Live Earth - what's your tune?
In 2006, Bob Geldof rallied us all to Live8, in the battle against global poverty.
This year's big concern around the world seems to be climate change, and so Al Gore has launched Live Earth. Eight concerts on 7 July will raise awareness of climate change (apparently, not everyone has heard of it). Shanghai, Sydney, Johannesburg, London will all host gigs, as well as cities to be decided in Brazil, Japan and the US. Oh yes, and get this: there also will be a live performance in Antarctica - he must have seen Happy Feet.
It's a great idea and I can't wait. I'm hoping my editor will send me to the Antarctic gig (Ice Cube perhaps?).
In the meantime, here in the office we have been thinking of what songs should be on the playlist. This is what we have so far, but I'm sure you'll have lots of cool suggestions (put them in the comments below).
